Can anyone help a LR novice please.

Had a lack of power develop a few days ago on my 04 TD5 Defender.
No noise or smoke, just wouldn't run over about 40 mph.

So fitted a new fuel filter today. Filled it with diesel and pumped the accelerator a few times before starting.

Started fine so went up the road to see if this was the problem.

It died on me about a mile from home and couldn't restart.

Have towed it home and plan on bleeding the filter tomorrow.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated............

Secondly, when starting a thread, name it of some relevence to the problem...as not many people will think, ''Oh, Macker..I know a thing or two about Mackers, maybe i can help''...

injector loom - check your ecu red plug has oil....

could try air leak in fuel system. Did you purge the air from the system fully before your test drive??

turn key to position 2 pump ac/pedal 5 times should go into auto bleed
