Well it's my turn for this one I had an early warning of timing chain guide failure so parked the car up. It was all ways the plan todo this on my engine at some point as it's a known weakness as all the posts on here will show.
A while back we rebuilt an m62 engine from the ground up or my mate John did with the help of the correct engine locking tool borrowed from Ant on here and that all went ok.
Forward a couple of years and it's my engines turn.

Here it is in all its partial stripped glory guides have failed. Iv bought the parts iv bought the locking tool but it's missing important bits that lock the clamps on the back of the engine in place. Will see how we get on.
I will point out my mate John is doing the work as I'm far to busy doing x6 day weeks at the moment after a year of lockdown.

Seeing that just made me think, why can't they make anything robust and reliable anymore?:(

So the new plan is to get another exhaust cam shaft and fit it to the car with new gears fitted.
It's a real risk the cam could jump and turn damaging the exhaust valves.....better safe than sorry.
