if you have the money and want MT's that are also suitable for the road get the BF's. similar patterns to those and possibly cheaper alternatives are perelli scorpion, cooper STT, Khumo venture, pro-comp.

if you want extreme MT's you cant beat super swampers. next in line simex centipedes followed closely by extreme trekkers. check out LA supertrucks for the superswampers.

creepy crawlers , mudzilla's , recips ,greenway re treads and i use the michelin mud terrain i think the xcl . all are good off road abd the michelins wear well on road too . but they are noisy

bfg mt's will be good, but you will cry if you damage one off road, thats why i have ordered some Insa Dakar's, same tread pattern as bfg but half the price

insa tread patterns are the same as bfg and also the macho from now defunct Greenway

you want Fedima which are Simex copies they are excellent and at £100 a corner a little cheaper than BFG but they dont clog at all, Greenway Machos are just cheap and clog easy they would be ok for Gren lane runs but if your in proper mud they are rubbish, remember you get what you pay for with tyres!! try the fedima Treker you wont be disapointed here is the link King Offroad Other Products

I Find the Colway C-Trax every bit as good as the BFG. and very cheap.
Also no problem balancing them. However the are very noisy at 50.
and on a disco 2 with ACE I corner hard and they dont really let go even about 70 ish. done 90ish on them motorway. you do need to turn up the radio though.

However they aint as good as the supper mud pluggas on the defender, and 30 squid each. they are cheap. but no E marking, so strictly offroad.

Personally I find two sets of rims with tyres for the right occasion.
because (que flame war) the BFG allterains are rubish:eek: . niether here or there. **** in the mud.
