@trax is this the same as digitalpoint spy ? if so the full version can be downloaded from the community section of xenforo .
another option is a browser addon that holds the data . downside you need to install a script manager -->
I can nose about today if you would like, the outlaws are turning up to help out .. and allow me to get on with "bits"

my prob.. and maybe its only me, is that I am watching so many threads. If I don't go on to lz-live for a few hours (I am, occasionally, not on line) it loads all of the updated threads so fast all the posts zoom past too fast to be able to scan or read - it must be the equivalent of 3 or 4 pages suddenly loaded.

Could LZ-Live be page controlled when updated?

I'll have a nose later on if you want me to I'm upto my armpits in nappies, dinner and nursing atm :eek:

i was totally looking at the wrong bit. there's something called liveupdate, which i think deals with the alerts and things.

the spy one is simple, and also bad practice as it doesn't use a namespace.. anyway just change 'spyTiming = 0;' in the spy.js to get fast initial loading. how easy was that.

we can change it later so the user can choose if you want. which will just be a custom user setting and swap the variable placeholder for the spyTiming value occurrences, again simples

for now, as a workaround, if people want an instaload make a bookmark with the url as
Code:
javascript:(function()%7BspyTiming%3D0%7D)()
call it 'Load fast' or whatever

then load lz live and hit the bookmark button on your bookmarks bar.
