Hi
Hello, not been here for a while but in need of help.

I run a '53 Range Rover TD6 on 140k. She runs well and surprisingly had few dramas over the 60k miles i have owed. Recently after using the kickdown she is running really lumpy at idle. This happens in D,N,R & P. I have a speedhawk attached and this has been in place for at least 15k so would not have thought a problem. If anyone can help I would be grateful.

Try some BG244 diesel fuel cleaner additive, before you start stripping it down, well worth it at £20 a can.
failing that, also it could be your fuel injection harness, they go brittle after a number of years, wheeler dealers replaced one on the one they did. If you look in the ecu box the big black one under the bonnet, there should be a label on the harness and you can see a date of manufacture on it, some indication how old it is.
cheapest first, those injectors are bloody expensive.
Good luck. Greg.

Thanks Greg.
Had a TD5 that I changed that on but that had rough running all the time. Will give it a check though. Running some Millers Oil through at moment but not helped so far. Is there an easy way to check injectors, will all faults come up on diagnostic?

Easy way is to pull the injector and place in a jar or similar with the electrical and fuel line attached...then run the engine, the injector should have a good strong spray with decent pattern.....if it fails to spray check the same electrical connection with a different injector if it now sprays, the injector is duff, if it still doesn't then the loom is fecked....do this with all the injectors, and see if any of them are duff or if the loom is duff....

Misfires and rough running should log something on diagnostics I am sure.

The above test was indeed carried out by Wheeler Dealers...search youtube for the episode on the Mk3 Range Rover.....
