Hello, I am struggling to find a second hand lt77 box for my 1984 landy 90 :( . I don't really want a reconditioned unit, just one that works. R380 units appear to be easier to come by tho. I read these are a straight swap but that sounds to good to be true? is it just a case of a straight swap? Would my lt77 transfer box fit? Do I need any new parts?

If anyone knows of a good lt77 box with a transfer box preferably (not essential) give me a shout or any ideas where to get them?

Thanks

std r380 isnt a straight swap ,they are longer like disco box ,you can get the rare short type or a kit to convert to short type but ones very rare the other not cheap ,is your box not rebuildable ?

Ahh I see! Thought it sounded too good. Yeah it will be but I want to try rebuild myself but have something to get the landy going for now.

Sent you a pm Dr evil.

Thanks for the info, appreciated

Far from a straight swap, so much so that when I wanted to fit a R380 in place of my LT77 without moving the engine I needed to buy an Ashcroft short shaft military spec gearbox.

A disco LT77 is not a straight fit it has a longer bellhousing and input shaft like the R380 Dr has offered his box twice now to noobs that was asking for a defender box!!
