Yes I'd read about the gasket for 200 tdi previous and silicone for 300 tdi onwards.
But it seems whatever rebuilt transfer box I look at has been assembled using silicone so thought I'd ask and see if their was a preference.
As people who build them know more than I do.
 
the box in pic used and should use gaskets as its 200tdi or previous, you can tell by number and speedo housing having hand brake cable bracket holes

Yep, I've got a gasket kit for it as that's what it's meant to have, It was kind of an after thought as to the silicone and if it was better and/or interchangeable.
Will stick to the gaskets anyhow :)
 
So parts turned up this afternoon, Managed to get the most part of it built up.
Just got the sump and pto cover to put on. Then give it a final check over and I'll make a start on the lt77.
Nice steady day which was enjoyed :)
Be nice to tinker with lr stuff everyday.
 
Ah balls, So I was going to set the intermediate gear pre-load up this morning.
Turns out my lbs inches wrench doesn't go low enough :(
 
To update this I managed to pick this up on ebay pretty cheap. So is finally finished :)
