LR SPECIAL VEHICLES OR NOT

Anyone seen a eBay listing for a 2003 Land Rover Discovery Adventure which the vendor claims is LR Special Vehicles, the listing shows the plate below riveted to the car and the vendor claims it has a chassis of thicker steel than a normal Disco, presumably the same as you can with a Defender Wolf

I haven't heard of this on a Disco, does anybody have any knowledge?

All the ‘special vehicles’ bit means is it had some non-standard spec, built by JLR, for a custom order.

Could be a police spec vehicle I think the HD chassis is bs.

Nowt to do with special vehicles but seller says mot till Dec 2020, dvla says Nov 2019.

.my dad's Disco 2 is a special vehicles. Sod all difference other than got a nice storage drawer setups, bulkhead and few odd bits in the back.

Special vehicles were usually fairly poverty spec too with no aircon, front fogs, heated windscreen etc like many other Discoverys had like my uncles one or two cheap ones I got for spares lately.

Don't see any difference in the chassis. It still rusts and had to patch a small hole near the hitch on it lol.

I have one of them on the autobiography.

it was just they went to a different line after being made and the special options added.

as for the thicker chassis I would doubt that

We had a sv fender. Had hd springs on the rear and that was it. Not that special.

Thanks for the responses, I think there is a distinct whiff of BS here too. Looked at a Disco 2 commercial yesterday, guess what ,it too had a LR Special Vehicles plate on rear door. Think someone is going to pay too much for the eBay one!!

PS: anyone know of a good series 1 Disco for sale??
