Sort of.

They are both the PG1 gearbox. However, they have different ratios/final drive - so you'd have to rev the guts out of a diesel with a petrol box and could take off from stand still in 3rd in a petrol with a diesel box (possibly!).

The diesel spec box also has more robust internals to take the torque of the diesel engine - a petrol spec box on a diesel would fail quicker.

Hello!

i have Q, so i found out that cluch kits are the same on

1.8 L K-Series I4
and
2.0 L L-SeriesTD I4

so the Q is - is gearboxes the same as well?
As GG said.
Yes and no. The gearbox is the same design and physically identical. There are however considerable internal differences, the diesel having extra bearings and different gear ratios.

Originally the clutches had different part numbers, between the 1.8K and L series (IIRC, the L clutch had a stronger cover spring, and different lining material), but as they are physically interchangeable, most suppliers now list the same PN for both 1.8 petrol, and L series diesel, probably based on the stronger L series clutch.
