Hi

Can someone provide any suggestions on how to start my 2001 Land Rover Discovery after the engine has immoblized. Am traveling with my family through Central America and currently in Roatan Honduras. The landy was running fine but until we tried to start it and she won't start. I took it to a good merchanic and he hasn't been able to resolve the issue besides telling that the car is showing P1673 code in the pending status and its showing the engine is running when its not.

I called my local dealership and all they told me was that i had to tow it to the nearest dealership in Costa Rica (not realistic). I have tried locking and unlocking the truck three times and inserted the key into the ignition but that hasn't worked. Please anyone that knows how to resolve this problem please reply back to me directly at [email protected]. I understanding the sensitive of sharing the information but I need to get my Land Rover moving.

Little more info would be good - you say 'wont start' - what actually happens?

Does the starter motor fire but the engine won't run, or does nothing happen?

Any lights on the dash?

Also, I am guessing if you are in the Americas, this is a V8 petrol?

Hi

She is turning but not starting or according to my merchanic there is no spark. this is a LR2 gas purchased in the united states V8. the only code that it's giving off is the P1673 which does make any sense cause we have the fob and have tried most of the tricks.

All the lights on the dash do turn on...

I'm too much a diesel guy and dunno much about V8's:eek: but I can't wonder what happened there cos according to RAVE> Engine management V8>immobilisation system> function >

P1673 = J2012 description: Engine anti-theft signal new engine control module not configured.
Land Rover description: New ECM fitted

:doh:Strange:confused:

we tried to replace the crank shaft sensor and that didnt work but now we are PCM malfunction. what is that and does that mean that we need to replace the computer?
