LPG V8 milage

Hi Guys, just joined up, thinking of getting a 03 discovery V8 and converting to gas,can any tell me whay kind of MPG the V8 might do before and after the converson...thinking of a V8 as i have seen one at right price...any help or info would be great....steve

You might want to hang fire on the conversion as fuel duty has been frozen on LPG until 2009 at which time it will be reviewed. I'm waiting till I can find out more about what the chancellor is planning to do next year.

i remember the days when diesel so so much cheaper than petrol ,a lot cheaper too!! how times change!! i imagine once lpg is very popular the price will hike up

My V8 auto on petrol seems to hover aound the 16/17mpg on mixed use, maybe stretching to 20mpg on a motorway cruise. Suspect LPG will be maybe 90/95% of that in the same conditions and my local LPG garage reckoned that an 80 litre set up was maybe a 200 mile range.

I've also got a TD5 auto that never seems to drop below 25mpg on the same runs.

All down to the maths I guess!

I got about 100 miles from 50 litres of gas from my V8 110 when it was running.

i get about 220 solo motorway miles on a good day from 65 litres... on a bad day loaded up with the caravan and lots of hills it has gone as low as 90....

on petrol I get a call from the bank manager before I've left the drive
