LPG rev "Graunching"

hello, bought a new disco on saturday so still getting used to LPG, but when it flicks over to gas and im sat idling in traffic the rec counter will be "graunching" up and down, have had it cut out on me twice now in traffic so have to left foot brake and raise the revs (my car is an auto btw) tightened up the accelorator cable slightly yesterday just to raise the revs but seems like it has not worked.... suggestions? the car has been stood for 9months before i bought it and this is its first tank of gas in 9 months.

I'd suggest getting it looked and/or serviced by an LPG installer before you go too far.

If it's changing over, at least some of the control side is working, but it sounds to me that you are trying to describe the engine 'hunting' ?

Generally, the LPG systems use most of the engines existing sensors and controls, they just swap the fuel injectors for the gas valve solenoids, but you can also have single-point LPG with a demand valve which is totally different.

If it runs OK on petrol, potentially it will be OK on LPG, but if you're not au fait with the systems, get someone to check it out.

yeah am getting someone to do a diagnostics check on it. may just need new filters.
