LPG mot failure??

Hi Landy Lovers, my disco 1 v8 failed its MOT on Emissions even though i run on LPG...the garage said it could be due to the cats..is that possible...any advice would be most appreciated before i start spending my cash..cheers.

No, not unless the cats are damaged. A cat can only reduce emissions not increase them. If the engime is running good then you should not need the help of the cats. There is a problem with the engine management. have you got a copy of the failed emmisions report. This will tell you whats really happening?

I've never had an LPG fail on emissions unless it's running on dual fuel. My last LPG was a 300 Merc and it was the lowest emissions you could ever get. Are you sure the examiner was testing it for LPG because if he was and you had both LPG and petrol running at the same time it would fail
