Lowering Driver Seat?

I do find the Landy comfortable, but I do have to drop my head to see the top half of the dash.

Thinking was that you might sit lower in fabric seats as they might be less chunky than leather ones ..just a stab in the dark.

I do on occasion bump my head getting in or out the Freelander :( but I'm not 6". I think the seat has deliberately been set high to give the high commanding driving position. It should be possible to shorten the the seat frame to give more head room. A bit of cutting and re welding is needed.

I had my seats out in the week and looking at the frame, I suppose it might be possible to cut a section & reweld out to make the base smaller.
You may run into difficulties with the mechanism though...

I would be wary of lowering the seat though as you need to think of other things like where the airbag is going to deploy and if you need to rejig the seatbelt pretensioners.

If its mainly the visibility onto the instrument binnacle, why don't you remove the top cover and reangle the instruments with some packing under the bottom, so you can see them?

I just dip my head every so often to check that there are no warning lights on that I can't see.

I also look to make sure that I am not indicating when I shouldn't be.

I can live with it. Its not perfect.
