Low gear button Hi. I have Range rover P38 2.5 DSE 1996. In the panel is a button for Low gears. When i push the button nothing happend even the light on the button dose not start. Can be disabled this function or there is a problem somewhere????:confused::confused::confus ed::confused:

I assume that you car has a manual gearbox? Low range is a standard fitment as far as I know, so you have a problem somewhere. Have you checked the Fuses. Otherwise have a sniff round the transfer box ECU for burning smells, it's under the passenger seat on RHD cars.

Probably a fuse.

Do you get any messages at all on the dash display when you press the Hi-Lo range button? Check if the plug of the Transfer box ECU is seated correctly (unplug and plug again). Could also be a duff dash button.

transfer box motor seized through lack of use is known problem on p38, also I seem to remember transfer box ecu superseded part number wise as early ones burnt out.
