I've taken to splitting my small issues in to their own threads. So if anyone searching for a fix looks for one, it might just happen for them. Quick update first. The girl passed her MOT but the fuel spill pipes look to have popped off since (£20 on ebay for a full set on order). Drivers door handle is still unattached but will be sorted in the new year. A leak from the passenger A pillar is still there but I'm waiting for a day of no rain to sort that. Same for the rear quarter window that had its rubber seal removed when the previous owner was locked out!

So. Engine temperature. The dash needle never comes out of the blue during normal driving. Ever. If left to idle, it will move up to the 12 o clock position. The blowers will blow hot air during driving but if the engine isn't 'pushed' then they start blowing cooler air. A few spirites maneuvers then allow for some hot air flow.

I'm looking to change the thermostat in the next couple of weeks and will update. Whilst I'm changing that , I'll be taking the viscous fan out as per Wammers' handy guide. Slowly but surely I'll get there.

Don't change the thermostat fit one, don't think it has one.

Iv been trying tygon yellow fuel pipe ,on me spilloff (ebay) ,So far so good about 6 months ,It does not have braiding ,,,but at £3 pound for 2 meters ,theirs plenty to play with,,,and its see through:rolleyes: easy to see air bubbles if there is any :D...A merry one to yous all n a happy one when it comes.......RR

Hope it's not silicone.

It's not, it's the type of fuel pipe used on mowers, strimmers Etc. If it will stand the crap unleaded full of chemicals petrol it will be ok with diesel. It's made in 2 mm 3 mm and 4 mm IDs. 3 mm will be a tight squeeze, it should be 3.2 mm 1/8" ID for spill pipes..
