Lost Trust in Freelander 2 TD4

Hi All

Please help regarding my Freelander 2 as I have got to the stage where I do not want to drive it. I guess I will have to take it to Landrover but would like to hear your thoughts on what could be causing the issues first.

For a few months it has had a few issues like feeling as though it was about to stall when coming to a stop or as though it had cut out for a second when driving at speed. It hasn't been anything specific & I've wondered whether I've just imagined it.

The last 3 days I have driven it I have had an issue;

- Cut out at roundabout when I accelerated to go. Started up immediately. Had been in traffic for a while.
- Driving at 40mph seemed to lose all power for a second but no lights came on & was fine afterwards.
- Today had a short run & then when I accelerated to pull away from parking position the car had no power & the battery light was on. Put in park position & light went. Drove fine afterwards.

It is a 2007 reg & has approx 88000 miles on.

Hi,sorry to hear you're having problems,is it diesel or petrol engine? If petrol could just be a bad electrical connection somewhere.More things to check on a diesel.Post your questions on the freelander forum and I'm sure you'll get good advice there,don't despair

think really the best thing would be to get it plugged into a diagnostic machine to see if any fault codes come up

maybe u have a local garage that can do that for u
