long mynd in the snow 23/12/09

Out today a lovely day in Shropshire, but whats happened here ?




Its always been boggy here but its got worse in the last couple of months due to the large amount of rain we have had.
in the summer it was possible to get from Stretton to The Bridges pub (even in a Freelander) today I had to go the long way round wasting drinking time
Still beats working

If you are up that way again, the red lion pub in longton has just re-opened and is well worth a visit (i prefer it to the bridges, although it might have had something to do with the roaring fire they had after the heater broke in my disco . . . )

Where exactly is this track by the way - i know the area relatively well ie taking the burway from church stretton and coming out at the bridges but am new to green laning and just wondered where this track was

the start of the lane is on the left just past where the portway crosses the stretton to Ratlinghope road.(have a look at Google maps)
The first stretch is a very good surface thanks to some sterling work by CRAG in the past but gets a bit boggy at the lowest point .
