Been lettin the missus drive the deepender for a week or two:eek:
Jumped in the other mornin just to take it for a run and when i went for the brake pedal it seemed to move alot further than i remember :(
Thought it was just me havin not driven it for a while but now i know it aint me!! if you sit with the engine runnin you can pump the pedal up and its good but after a minute or two if you go for the pedal again it almost goes to the floor. I have checked for leaks in the lines and cant see any, the fluid level was fine and i have just had new shoes and cylinder in the back. Does this sound like a vac pump problem or the servo possibly???

Any help appreciated guys :D

Sounds like either the rear drums need adjusting up or there's still air in the system from fitting the new wheel cylinder.
Adjust em up and give it a quick bleed - see if that improves it.

adjust the drums, nice an easy.

Jack it up, one corner (back) at a time. Spin the wheel by hand, and turn the adjuster - looks like a bolt head in the drum back plate. Turn it until the wheel locks, then back it off until ir runs free. Then do the other side.

Now try again.

id rebleed the system mate sounds like there is a bit of trapped air in the system causing the pedal to go spongy

Cheers, forgot about the adjuster.

It could be that the brakes weren't fully bled but it could also be a knackered master cylinder. It aint vacuum pump cos the pedal would go solid not soft.

Soz, was just saying thanks to the thread, spent all day bleeding brakes, 3 litres put through to get the air out and still didnt know why the brakes were ****, but ...the adjuster...makes so much diff to the whole system it feels.

sorry all.
