Lock barrel replacement

I can't get the old barrel out of my safari door, I've tried the little hole but the barrel pin doesn't seem to be in there to push, should I drill the barrel out through the key end and how big a drill bit ....

Have a look at Busters guides as I think he did one for door lock barrels.

or, what I did, inline with the end of the lock, drill the inner panel, 8-10mm hole that yer screwdriver will go though.
then you can unscrew the screw on the end of the barrel (good luck) and it pops out.
