local dump ?

Littlehampton...heading says it all
my Range Rover managed to drag itself to France and then on to other e.u countries without having to show a pass or i.d. For the D DAY celebrations.
Now my local council with a combined i.q of a confused mollusc
have decided to make a 'book an appointment online' to go to the local tip, and you can have one appointment a week, starting March
Then you have a 5-minute time slot to get in and out
must wear a mask
and must show identification of who you are and where you live, or you are refused entry
shame our border security isn't this stringent
should we expect a reduction in our community charge?
Now the road is so busy with waiting at over an hour ,the police shut the tip due to road safety.
Cant make it up,
with the rest homes, care homes and retiree's the average ages of this community is old,
how the fork are they going to cope with booking an appointment online, turning up on time, bringing id, wearing a mask, for a five-minute slot.
So fly tipping will increase and so will our bills to cover the cost of cleaning up the fly tipping because they cant get into the local tip to dump their rubbish, which they pay for in community charges.

they charge you more and give you less

community charge down here in our band increasing by another 3 percent = over £200 a month, for what!
I wanted to move to Lincolnshire , she wouldnt agree.
 
you've no business going to a refuse collection point. think of the health and safely!!!

you could.. erm.. get a thorn in your finger when getting rid of hedge cuttings!! much better to pay a gardener professional landscaper to do it for you, they'd had training on thorn avoidance, don't you know!

at our tip, you're not allowed to 'walk on' with a wheel barrow, or carrying bags, because you could get run over. a risk that does not apply if you drive on THEN get out of your car and carry bags around :rolleyes:

Technocratic bureaucracy, probably the worst kind. The more complex you can make it, the more problems will arise, then requiring even more 'management'.
Round here they're reducing the green bin collections to every three weeks. Still putting their charges up though.

Must admit I just deal with any accumulated junk with hire of a skip every year or two for a good sort out
I just can't be arsed queing at the dump to get the third degree from some little jobsworth
Most everything else fits in the bin or recycling
 
The skip dippers is true my missus being one of them I’ve were out and she sees a skip she always spots something that she says she can do up unreal I just drive on an complain but you also get the people that dump there rubbish in your skip at night get up in the morning an some **** has half filled your skip for you

So when might i get a slot to tip my rubbish, by my maths that's a fecking long time away !

Bet your glad you got that off your chest. Our local tip don't like you taking too much recyclable waste because , I tell you no lies," the Council get fined if they exceed their recycle target.

When was it we, the once great country lost the ability to do .. anything
so sad, we are supposed to push forward and advance
but we are going backwards in just about every way...i think we need the Romans back.

Times about same as Lincoln plus only certain items on certain days.

The trouble is, Modern day Romans are skinny little runts that wear Armani and designer sunglasses. I blame it on inexperienced university graduates that don't know their arse from their elbows but are put in charge of designing systems.
