Living with a 'fender in France

Me and my better half are planning a move to France (central rural Limousin area) and hope to selling up and moving next Spring/Summer. I have a 1987 Defender 90 which would be ideal for the region given the rural roads and snow conditions during the winter. We currently use it for business and dog transport. I do most of my own work, servicing and stuff like changing prop shaft UJs isn't a problem but I know my limits! So, question is, does anyone have experience of the level of support for a Landy in France, in terms of parts (although t'internet is perhaps the best way to go) and garages? If anyone lives around the Limousin area I would be really interested to hear from you!
