Hi everyone,

I've just joined this forum tonight! I have a TD5 S2 Disco (ES) which is currently broken  (seperate post for this available elsewhere on the site!) When it's working it's lovely!!

Broken aside, I love my landy and want it looking like new too. In the winter we had something "spilt"(looked like it was thrown) over the side of the car, which in the ice and snow set hard like a varnish. With a 10 year old car, if I get the affected panel(s) resprayed, will it look odd?

Any ideas for alternatives (strong paint safe cleaners) welcome...

Welcome LittleMiss Disco

Its really hard to tell if you can respray the panels on a 10 year old vehicle without being able to tell a big difference in colors afterwards. It all depends on how faded the original paint is, and to some extend what the original color is.

If you put a fresh coat of factory paint on e.g. a door of a ten year old vehicle it is almost bound to show. You might consider to have the entire side of your vehicle resprayed, or alternatively have a paint mixed to match your ten year old color. There are people about who can do magic with spray paint, blending repairs perfectly in with the rest, but typically at a rather stiff price.

Good luck and lets see some before and after pictures...
