HI Guys, what would the possible causes of a td5 going into limp mode if rev`s go above 4000, ie. kickdown

Could be any one of a number of things I should think. My previous 300 went into limp mode and after 2 weeks in 2 workshops they decided it was fuel contamination/ detergent.

at a guess the turbo is overboosting, probably due to sticking wastegate or solenoid.

My td5 kept droping into limp mode due to a fault in the loom between throttle pedal and ecu,very intermitent but usually when wet, but could let go at any rev range.Steve.
