Lightweight engine possibilities?

just having a day dream but is it possible to squeeze a td5 in a lightweight? or 300tdi easily enough? or would most opt for a v8 if you were to engine swap?

sure question has been done, i did search though

how about a 6bt cummins

200/300tdi's will both fit, 200 manual will be the easiest

dunno about the TD5 but i expect you'll run into bellhousing problems at the very least, i've not yet heard of one fitted in any model of Series

i've most of a V8 conversion kit here, range rover flywheel with spigot adaptor, manifolds, swb exhaust, remote oil filter, and engine mounts along with the radiator that came out of the V8 2a only things i'm short of is an engine and conversion ring

a 2.5 petrol would be the best quiet a bot more power and very drivable ,anything much bigger will be poor to drive tdis good but noisy

I couldn't agree more.

A 2.25 or 2.5 with an ACR head and cam or a full 2.8 if you're feeling flush. Quiet, plenty of torque and responsive...
