Lift kits??

just about to cough up for one and i hear a few people crying about procomp not being so good.. can anyone advise? much thanks will

Go terrafirma never heard any complaints about them at all but heard loads of horror stories about Procomp.

I've been looking at this as well and from what I can see they give a very firm ride and are not the longest lasting of parts. OME seam to get good all round reviews.

Had my procomp over 18 months and no problems, but you pay for what you get. If I had the money I would have got something different

Britpart do the job and are cheap but you get wot u pay for

Fox remote reservoirs were brilliant on the comp safari racer but cost a fortune

i asked and basically got they brake alot and the odd said iv had not probs, got shown some others but cant afford them so am goin to settle with the brit part lift kit from paddocks the only down side iv only found the britpart shocks to be standard length, but decided im realy only fitting my lift kit for looks and bigger tyres.

save you're money then. and don't buy ****part they will fall apart and the springs will sag. ya 2" lift will be a 1" lift within a couple of months.

i have pro comp and i have not had any problems with them but i was young and just went and first thing i saw, but i will be buyin terrafima stuff soon

yea OME are expensive but I'd rather by once and get it right than save a bit of cash but have it FUBAR in a years time. Guess you need to get what you feel is right for you, one guarantee is that you will always get a range of opinions on here.

I fitted 33x12.50 tyres on 15" modular rims last year and went for a 3" Britpart lift kit with all the accessories from Paddocks. Now I wish I hadn't. Was driving past TD5's thinking "how comes he's higher??? Factory fitted?" Waste of hard earned cash. Nice one Paddocks. You lying bastards. Honestly: if anyone has any suggestions tell me. Now I'm going for 37" tyres and a suspension kit I can trust. And Britpart. Thank you. Maybe's I'll have a word with Team Britpart at the next event.

brit part = ****e. Get OME / Terrafirma / Koni / De Carbon.

If you can't afford it don't buy it dude, If you are low on cash you don't wanna waste it on ****e. You really should be looking at caster corrected bushes or ideally radius arms aswell and probably trailing arms/panhard rod too or your steering will be seriously compromised. If you haven't already got polybushes on then now is the time too.

I have a 2" lift sitting waiting until I have all the parts i need then I will fit it all in a oner. I went the way you are going with my old 90. Made it ****e on the road. Oh and Terra's have 3 different types of hardness.

Cheers dude. Tyres are fine (Khumos). Steering is fine. Radius/trailing arms changed and propshafts. As are all the bushes. Good on the road. But the lift kit was a waste of time. As you say mate: save for something better. Which I am and will buy something that looks "engineered". Still want bigger tyres tho' Cheers.

had procomps and broke both front shocks in less than a year! got terrafirma now and not had any problems so far! touch wood!

My 2" Terrafirma kit is excellent. The springs are progressive so you get a softer ride and more articulation than the standard H/D springs. I haven't fitted new radius arms but it handles well enough. All fitted in an afternoon. I recommend a scissor jack or similar to get the front axle down enough to drop the springs in more easily.
