LEZ withdrawing exemption.

They ask for 4 pictures- all sides….

I will be refusing this request and will be re registering my vehicle with its original, exempt number plate if there are any further complications!

It won't make any difference. If it says Light Utility 4x4 on the log book, the vehicle will not be LEZ exempt.

And if it is a non Euro 6 diesel, it will not be ULEZ compliant.

Unless it is registered as a Historic Vehicle. Which it isn't.

It’s possible that their computer is looking at the H prefix on the reg plate, so confused, with only 31 years it wouldn’t be historic. So it should take into account the original 1987 registration, and zip through cross referencing and accept your vehicle as historic, therefore compliant.
As I'm sure it does with other Historic vehicles that are fitted with a personalised plate.
Historic status is given to vehicles 40 years old and older, on a rolling basis. So a vehicle will need to have been registered in 1981 if you were to apply for historic exemption in 2021.

Not quite! For 2021 it's built in 1980 - registration year isn't so important - and you can't get exemption until the April after the 40th anniversary. So if the car is 40 this week you'd have to wait until April 1st next year.

I do know that, I’v already registered a car as Historic (see post #14 & 16)
Also OPs Landy was first registered in January 1987 (see post #3) to that makes the vehicle 40 years old in 2017.

I then received an e Mail asking for me to send pictures and the log book.
I’m troubled by sending pictures of the vehicle as I wonder if it’s had a body change at some point as it now has van body (no side doors) but does have a side window. (wonder if it was in the army as it has feint number markings that look like military)

As they have already withdrawn the exemption I don't see as you have anything to loose and have everything to gain by simply complying with their request!

And by chance this just arrived.

I've written back and told D Milton that there system's bust.
If you can decipher what D Milton means you're better at comprehension than me. Main thing is that I have the bit where he says the LR is compliant and can wave it at the Judge before I'm sent down.
