Just found out today the abs Tc and amber hill decent LEDs have been removed of the speedo cluster. I need to change the speedo but want my mileage transferd onto the new clocks or can the cluster be stripped and new LEDs fitted
It's a 2001 td4 freelander any help would be brill

Pumping the brake pedal 10 times in the first 10 seconds after the ignition is turned on to position 2 disables the traction control until vehicle speed reaches 4mph, then TC is enabled again. This will power the yellow TC, yellow ABS and yellow HDC fail lamps on the dash until it's moving at 4mph, to help with fault finding the lamps. Whilst in this "mode" the HDC switch won't light the HDC green lamp on the dash when pressed.

Someone will be along to avise which LED's to buy. Someone did it recently. You can fit new ones. I assume they is soldered in. It's a popular repair after some feker has removed them to hide a fault.

Thank you best thing is they would have got away with tissue or tape hill descent light works green one and also when Ingaged that side seems to work ie first gear on muddy slope hill descent engaged you feel the abs kick in when you drop throttle. I kno once the LEDs are fixed the 3 lights will be on

Also do the freelanders have TC fitted as standard or if it's fitted is there a button
TC was standard on all Freelander 1's with ABS. TC, ABS and HDC come together. It was optional before the 2001 model year I think. Standard on 2001 model year onwards. There's no option to switch TC oft, other than the 10 brakes as above. But that's cancelled when you drive oft at 4mph+.

Thank you can the freelander have the abs codes read by paper clip shorting once the cluster LEDs are working

No. You need to plug in an obdii code reader. The codes will be in the ABS computer so it will need to be able to read that as opposed to the cheap ones that just read basic engine computer info and engine computer codes.
