Hi I have moved with my freelander 2 to France . I bought some lhd headlight units . Come to change them . They fit perfectly the plug is the same . Old ones were not LED new ones are. Was an easy change up to trying them . They don't work do I need some form of adaptor electronics to make them work or have I bought a dog. The dipped are LED but not main beam

No FL2 comes with standard LED dip headlights, so something fishy is going on, probably an aftermarket kit.
Presumably you can just fit the normal bulbs in place of the LED bulbs.

What age is your Freelander and what age Freelander were the lights off?

Do you have a photo of old and new lights?
2007 freelander brand new lights. I did supply my chasis number to get them. Old light first then new

Just looked at part number of the main beam and I think that is where the problem lies it's a Philips HB3LL WHICH IS A xenon. Will that need associated electronics to make it work.

If the label in the photo is off the new headlamp then it’s a halogen lamp.

As the original had separate dip and main beam and the new ones have a single bulb with a shutter for main beam you’ll need to change the wiring on the car to match the new lights.

How competent are you at wiring?

The label is from the new one . What do I need to change.
