Morning,

Does anyone know if I need to alter anything or if these are a straight swap ?

Red Stop Tail Lamp LED

Currently have the originals in, they've warped from the heat and have faded,

Asked Paddocks themselves but not expecting a quick reply,

Cheers,

There's sometimes some terminals to crimp on and fit into a little multiplug affair, but pretty easy. As LEDs are polarity sensitive, they're vulnerable to Land Rover's own inconsistency in wiring loom design. But you can swap the wires around in the multiplugs until you get them working the way they're supposed to.

Thought you were just replacing the stop/tail lights

Indicators are different kettle o fish. I've not bothered looking into it but believe you either need different flasher relay (as you've already found) or balast.

You can buy an adjustable indicator relay which allows you to set the time interval of the flash. If you use the factory relay it will flash ultra fast. The indicator relay on my 110 sits behind the fuse box under the center dash if that helps

Replacing all flashers and brake lights with LEDs, unsure what I want to do with Headlights,

I did buy an Adjustable relay for flashers, and a google search has told me that my relays on a 1997 90 is where the fuse box is, so all is well for now lol

I was looking at these,

PM678 | Wipac Crystal Halogen Headlamp Conversion Kit (pair) - left hand dip (UK and Australia)

They appear to be slightly better, But I may just change the bulbs and clean the current lens and reflector and see if theres a decent difference,

I did note that I didnt get any LED side repeaters, and a quick look and Paddocks showed me that there arent any at this time,

Would this mean that when the new relay arrives for the LEDS to slow them down from disco ball setting to what they should be the sides are going to be really slow ?

I got the flasher relay that Bolt on Bits sell to go with their LED indicators, which seems to be fine so far. The stop/tail light circuit doesn't need any modification, it's perfectly happy with lower current lamp units.

I was thinking about new headlamps, but in the event I just got some more expensive bulbs - Philips Extremes. They seem to be whiter than the ones I took out which were distinctly yellow. What I really wanted was better illumination on the dip setting as a lot of my driving in the dark seems to be on A roads with oncoming traffic. So far the new bulbs are better and I can actually see some of the road on my side when there's a car coming towards me.

The side repeaters are just tiny little capsule bulbs that hardly use any current anyway, so they're not going to make much difference to the overall resistance of the indicator circuit. Everything flashes at the same time, because it's all wired together in parallel.

LEDs WILL show up ANY slight fault in the earths, so make sure they are good/clean/new before you start.
and if you'd said indicators, I would have said you need a different flasher, also, if you tow, make sure its one compatible with the tell tale on the dash, or you will need to fit a buzzer for the trailer tell tail.

I did buy a adjustable relay for the Flashers,

Changing to LEDs;

front and back flashers,
Brake Lights,
Side Lights,

As for the earths, I assume it would be fairly close the the lights attache to the body work yes ?

If I run into any issue's I'm sure you'll all know quickly after

Other side is just solid mud,

Ok so obviously the new Flashers dont work as of yet to an earthing issue,

Would you clean the female bits so there's a decent chance the new ones will work or would you just create a new earth ?

I got the bolt on bits set.
they where a direct replacement and came with the relay included.

Someone has a post 1998 wiring :)

Not me though, got to change the polarity of the wiring, just bought a (see link below) to make it easy on me,

Draper 13658 5-Way Crimping Tool and Terminal Kitto

Stop lights are 30% brighter at least,

Adjustable flasher relay hasn't arrived as yet sadly, hoping its here before the weeks out
