Hi folks - noticed yesterday that my B reg 90 had a wet fuel tank, its defo diesel but was too dar to see where it is coming from. I checked the jubilee clip where the filler hose joins the tank as you can see that easily from the wheel arch and it is dry.

Guess I need to check all the pipes coming out of the tank to make sure they are not leaking and if they are ok then I presume I must have a crack in the tank itself? Any other options?

How do you get the tank out if I need to replace? Is it via the drivers seat?

Thanks

Front bracket off, down & forward with a couple of bolts at the back which will need cutting off cos they are rusty. I had to weld a new bracket onto the back outrigger. Only a couple of hours work.

When I did mine it was a pain in the arse to get the new one back in as easily as the old one
came out.
With hindsight I think taking the sill off may have assisted the process!

Mine rotted between the tank and lower guard. Took me fecking hours to get the old one off but the new one went in a fair bit easier.

Make sure it's empty before you take it out, it's heavy enough with no fuel in it. Top tip from a bloke in LRO, he didn't empty his and now has half a set of fingers on one hand.

Just replaced mine the other week. It also only leeked when over 1/2 full, it was the middle joint that was the culprit. Took it to a repairer who saw that it had the guard on it and said easier to buy new. Getting the new one in was a pain in the arse as well. Only cost about £100 with all the new gaskets
