leaking hard top

my harptop leaks when it rains i have fitted a new roof seal but it still leaks . im not 100% sure but i think it leaks through the overlap joint on the roof has anyone come across this leak.

Yep seen this, it leaks in via slot for fitting the roof bars...I changed mine for another freelander (no hard top) before I had chance to sort it. If you arent fitting roof bars and want a quick fix - bathroom sealant maybe ?!!! no one will see it cos it'll be under the flap.

thanks did you put the sealant under the plastic cover for the roof bars.

I didnt actually do it, before I had chance to sort it out I swapped it for another Freelander without a hardback. It's just a suggestion really, if you arent planning on putting roof bars on then yeah under the plastic flap...from memory its about 1"x4" and just above the centre pillar on the roof.

Its a quick and dirty fix really but cheap and probably effective. I would use plumbers sealant rather than cheapo stuff. Easy to remove sealant at a later point.
