Leak...

Any time it rains, I get a hell of a soaking with water coming in through the seat belt plastic at my shoulder. There is also a wet patch between the grab handles on the driver and back passenger seat. My car is normally parked on a slight incline with the car nose up higher than the back, but when I park straight the water comes in the back! (Just incase that points anyone In the right direction!)

Anyone know where that means the water is likely coming in?

In the sun roof then runs along the roof lining thingy and out where it can, try parking it uphill!

Is it more likely to be the front or back if it is coming in where it is?

Just so I know how much of the headlining I need to rip out!
Or can anything be checked without the headlining down?

Anyone got any pics of the drain tubes in situ?

Would love to help as I have slightly the same issue but mine is solved by parking as stated. My leak must be in a particular small location and when parked up hill the water flow must be away from the leak point. Others who have done more work on their sunroofs will be able to tell you more.

When I park uphill it is bad, when I park flat it's fine.

Suppose the short term answer as you say is park flat haha

Loads of info already in the Forum on sunroofs, or just Google and again loads of info and pictures... assuming your vehicle is a D1 or 2.
There’s only two seals involved, if they are 100% you won’t have any water leaking into the vehicle from the sunroof, the body to sunroof frame seal will require the removal of the sunroof from the roof to replace, unless a thin bead of sealant is run externally around the edge of the frame.

Double check your door seals are pushed up in the corner before ripping your headliner out. My sunroof drain tubes broke and the headliner used to get wet at the front corner. After I repaired them water started leaking from the seat belt like yours and it turned out I hadn't pushed the door seal up fully into the top corner properly after I had put the headliner back in. A quick readjustment of the door seal and all dry again.

Also, check the top of your windscreen is properly sealed in. I had a weird leak in my D1 from this. Peeled it back a bit, cleaned out the rust and carp, sealed it with professional car window black sealant, it never came back. (I appreciate D2 screens are fitted differently.)

I'm sure I seen a step by step guide to removing the headline, going to try that

Can you drive about with it off, ie no switches or anything being off cause an issue?

Must have been the early 200 series with the rubber seal, the 300 windscreen is bonded as is the D2 so no difference there.

Don't understand this, mine is an Anniversary model, but there was obviously a lip I had to peel back. shame I can't get a pic to show you as I am about 800 mile from it!

There’s not much difference between an Anniversary model and an ES from the same year, other than stainless steel tread/kick plates, a logo badge or two and the blue metallic paint colour plus lighter colour upholstery, but no difference with regard to windscreen sealing, so your windscreen bonded to the body the same as a D2 and any other 300 series disco before.
If you had an issue with water ingress from a bonded screen u should have taking it back.

Do I need to remove the plastic bit there around the windows to get the lining out?

If not what am I doing wrong, is there a "knack" to shimmying the lining out once everything is unscrewed?

Just remembered, it had been replaced at some time, again with a heated one, maybe that accounts for it, but it sure as heck weren't bonded in.

Losing the will to live now! Something is sticking here...

What am I missing, can't see anywhere to unscrew?

Right got headlining out...

All 4 sunroof pipes are intact!!

What the..!!!

Where else do I check then please whilst this is out?
