Are there many taller drivers of Defenders out there? I'm around 6'3" so not huge by any measure, but I do have long legs (especially between feet and knees) and I have found test driving a couple of 90s this weekend a bit of a chore. One (which had lovely big seats) was downright dangerous as it took about 12 seconds to get my foot off the loud pedal and rearrange it for some braking.

There just isn't enough room between pedal and steering wheel.

I wondered what innovative solutions people have come up with? Is it limited to a lift on some 1" box section? Or a drastic chop of the bulkhead behind the seats?

i am 6 foot 6 i just drive it like a tractor i dont use my ankle to apply pressure i use my leg it can be a chore but i am starting to get used to it

So, reading between the lines, I should just stop being a whinging short-arse and get on with it!;)

Looking at that link, 4-inches of extra travel would probably do the trick.

Thanks!

J

We'd all love an extra 4in of 'travel' I'm sure (thought I'd get that in first :D).

I'm 6ft3in and am just about alright with the seat all the way back.... On the plus side at least its easier to get in when you've got long legs, I love watching short ppl trying to get in lol.

OI SEAN!!!

Anyway,...am 6'3 and a lanky git and it's fine, but i do have to stoop a bit to see under the visor, especially at traffic lights - else i just wait for the manic hooting!

i know a bod who's 6'11" n he used t drive land rovers wen he was in the RAF,and he also used to av a mini!......so unless ya bigger than big Si yu should all be able to cope.

I'm 6"5 and dont have any real probs with leg room :) , my prob is more my top half as I have broad shoulders so I feel a bit squished .
Cant remember who said " the wheel gets in the way " ? do you drive with your legs together like a women then lol .
