basically, i'm 19, 20 in the back end of july, i've checked out insurance on a landy defender 90 hard top and its cheaper than my 1.0L polo, so i've decided to upgrade to a defender 90
just thought i'd get some advice and opinions before i do anything rash
i've got a pretty low budget, maybe pushing just over £2500
f.y.i. not just getting it because of insurance being cheap, i need it as a work horse too, e.g. towing things, carrying machinery and work force etc

cheers
tam

Get a tdi not a td. More mpg and better everyday use. Worth saving a lil bit more before you buy. That extra 1000 can make the difference.

Look through the search feature for advice. Chassis, bulkhead and door rust. And check hi and lo ratio work.
Thay said welcome and happy searching

id suspect you'd get a better td or even n/a than tdi for the money you are looking to spend. Dont expect to go racing in any of them though.

Worth waiting n saving aint it. For summat that lil better. Specially with fuel prices as are. Wish i had waited, i wouldnt be on a train to collect a donor motor and not in the pub!!

check your insureance on a disco or range rover as you get a lot more for less money when buying.

with all landy products in your budget rust will be the biggest issue

with what you save on insurance, you may end up spending on maintenence, but that'll all depend if your will to buy a lemon on the cheap and put a bit of work in to get it up to spec and put the graft in.

200/300tdi would be a good engine to go for.
