You'll never drill that bearing out, they are as hard as f**k. You might try a chisel as it'll likely break into bits. Big one, very very sharp, hey Jai or you might try a thermic lance :mil50:

Dremel or flexible shaft and grinding wheel. Best way i have found. Take some time, but it dong damage the bearing carrier.

Paddocks have got em, just not on their web-site - phone em.
Or use a decent supplier, like LRSeries.

When I ordered a front stub axle from paddocks the brass ring and seal were already fitted Jai

Cost £5 more on the delivery though, plus the part. Was cheaper to order it from else where. Nothing wrong with paddocks, half my landy is from them.

ive got the hub off finaly, and i wrecked a couple of chisels trying to brake the bearing but that dident work. They did manage to chip the rim of the bearing though, and this chip in the rim allowed me to take the rollers out one by one, and once i got them all out, the hub just came off. Result.

I have checked the manual very carefully, and as far as I can see the procedure you adopted is not listed as an approved repair operation. You were therefore committing an UNAUTHORISED PROCEDURE !

This means you get TOP MARKS for doing a successful job, having discovered the only way to do it.

I hope you were wearing safety specs or goggles when you were blasting chisels and bearings into shrapnel!

Sounds about right. Have found bits of the swivil seal spring in the CV joint, so have been doing the swivil seal seal too. Will clean out the CV and put clean grease in, but the CV itself is fine. Seal retainer plate was rusty as DiscoJamez's old defender, so had to clean it up and paint it befor re-fitting it, so couldent finish it today as paint is still wet. Excuses.

EDIT: the stub axle from paddock has included the bronze bush and seal already fitted to confirm what Jai said.

I had a similar one,i put the wheel back on( left all the hub nuts ect off) put it on a axle stand then lay under the car and kicked crap out of the wheel.

It took some abuse but the leaverage/ size of the wheel and me kicking got it off.

saved the hub but not the stub axle.
