Hello Folks I have a problem with my Disco that jerks when crusing :(, i have been told it could be The EGR valve, I have looked but cannot for the life of me find it in the engine bay. Its a 3.9 l petrol, any help would be glady appreciated.
Larry :)

Hmm, best get me psychic cap on ...

Nope, it's fecked .. ;)

Sounds like the transmission is wound up, mine does that if it's done a lot of long haul constant speed driving, motorways and the like.

Best cure for that is to find a long quiet stretch of road and drive in reverse for about 20 yards according to the book.

Simple cheap stuff first, lets hope that's all it is.

Hi Larry, afaik there is no EGR valve on the V8 petrol, it's only on the diesel engines????

Whereabouts are you? Is it Auto or manual? there are quite a few components taht can wear and cause backlash in teh drive line such as the transfer box, prop shaft ujs and or donuts, diffs CVs etc...

Its an auto and its strange that its not always jerking, it usually happens around 50 mph after driving for about 30 mins, the wife drove it the other day and said it was that bad it worried her. I did find a loose connection on the coil and tightened it and seems to be ok at the mo.
