Are the heaters normaly crap in defenders mine is no use at all, can you upgrade them I think some army ones have arctic heaters fitted can you get them fitted or buy them.

Cheers

I have a 110 CSW, puts out plenty of heat.
On my old 90, i gave the system a good flush, used some treatment, and a good quality coolant, and no worries.

Your heater should be adequate, it cant be workin proplee.
And being a truck cab should not take long to get warm inside.

Our td5 does seem to take a little longer to warm up than others we have had, but once its up to temp its as wam as toast.

Thanks for the ideas its seems I was wrong to assume that landy heaters are crap will try the suggestions and look forward to not shivering next time I go out.

Mine are crap too, the matrix is fine though i do get heat its just not at any speed from the blower unit, I was going to go and have a rumage around the scrappy to find a better blower unit. probably with more than three settings. off, Speed 1, and speed 2. neither speeds(slightly inappropriate) push air at any decent rate. sound familiar????

I have a problem with the fan, landy heats up once engine is at running temp and at speed, but the fan does not work. Have checked both fuses in the main fuse box. Had the bonnet up to see, but all i see is a sealed box unit. Any suggestions on anything else i could check.......

I would check the power to the ur fan, (use the connection on the fan with it switched on) and connect to your horn for example, if the horn works the feed is okay and the unit is, well dead !!! failing that with that wire connected ee if the fan moves when you press the horn, quite a quick and simple check.

Cheers mate, i give that a try.

No probs, at least you can determine whats at fault, the feed or the unit. if the feed works, check to see the fan is secure and the earths are okay( black wire usually) ensure the earth is touching nice clean ally. signs of green corrosion and rust can cause a fault.

Try checking the linkage on the Hot / Cold control ( on top of the heater ) mine slips over time meaning you don't get full heat just luke warm.

Hi all

Just wanted to say thanks for the advice about my heater the cable had slipped on the heater box so it didn’t go all the way to hottest setting, all fixed now and its nice and toasty in my truck cab
