Can anyone recommend a decent Land Rover club around Merseyside? I was one of the original members of Liverpool Land Rover Society, but a back stabbing ****wit (Yes, you, Kenny) and another clueless **** have voted "Not to renew my membership" because I had a spliff when out green-laning last July!

He didn't even have the balls to say anything to me when I was at the meeting last week. Not a word. Got on the phone to the chairman (who's a good lad but was out-voted by the 'committee' regarding me) to complain about me being at a club meeting, even though I was less than 30ft from him at the time.

So, I'm looking for a club that's a lot less petty, who don't spend all their time in quarries, and who do a bit of gentle green laning of the occasional weekend.

Anyone got any suggestions?

hiya pete! join my club mate! dont really touch pay and play just laning from now on, we dont ban for smoking waccy either! i did hear there is a few tits in the liverpool landy club like, sounds more like **** houses than tits to be honest haha!

Sounds like a plan to me.

To be honest, there are few very good lads in the Society, it's just a shame that there are a couple of members who want total control over it, and that leads to people "taking sides" and pointless squabbles. I just don't need that ****.

I just want to go greenlaning and chill out, turns out that the chilling out bit isn't allowed - unless the spliff has 5 recovery points, a cb radio, and uprated suspension.

Comedy thing is, mine was the only Range Rover that completed the Wayfarer that day with zero damage...

must of been that smoke ya had that cusioned the blow:rolleyes:
the miserable twots

Comedy mate, rest of 'em went out with tons of recovery ****, winches and shovels and waffle boards, CB radios, etc.

I took a toolkit, some herbs, and a few choice CDs.

Wouldn't mind, my Classic is very road biased...

we took a classic with us the weekend just gone on blad tyres near enough and fook me was it suprising, brooklands kit aswell and it came back in one piece besides the paintwork hahaha!

I'll show you the Classic sometime, it's not even scratched.....

I must have been mental, taking a turbo'd Rangie off-road.

I've still got it, going to MOT it next week then throw it back on Ebay. Free-relisting.

oh it would get scratched alright! whats the wayfares like? isnt corwen near there aswell? are they worth doing? i do fancy the river crossing at some point at corwen. (tries so hard not to call it the car wash)!

Wayfarer is ok, gentle, but with a few interesting bits. Not done Corwen.

I tend not to do the deeper river crossings in V8s. I don't give the cars any special preparation other than checking the oil and water, tyre pressures etc. I go greenlaning for the views and a bit of a challenge rather than the push the car to the limits. They're my road cars, ****ing about underneath them on a daily basis isn't my thing.

May seem boring, but it's much cheaper that way.

totally agree mate, trust me i am paying for showing off at the moment, did wipe the eye of some of the heavily modified stuff though and also out powered most of it. what yer gonna use then if the RRC goes on ebay?
gotta admit some of the sites you see is breath taking and its nice to get out the city.

The P38. Just have to be mega-careful. I doubt 18" Grabbers are much use offroad.

The views are incredible sometimes. I keep meaning to go and explore the Lake District, see what's up there.

How did you damage your disco raz, any vids or pics. As im still on my arse, and need to watch the pennies, been looking at a few disco TD5s to replace my daily drive. Heard Chris sold his 90 for buttons, and that Andy has pimped his classic with some monster wheels. Keep in touch fella.

Hi pete.
Come and meet the ORIGINAL Club where the original founders are still with us. We split away from the Liverpool land Rover Owners club because of similar issues, then the liverpool Land Rover society broke away from them. Most of LZ members have got it right in what they say about clubs who take them self to serious. Dont take my word for it you can decide for yourself. Check out the websites below on the sig. We go with a full cook out and a well stocked beer tent. We believe the members run the club and not the commitee we just act in your's and the clubs best intrest. If you want any futher info just message me. cheers john.
