P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm; }P.western { } I have an 1987 90 with 200 engine, had it for 15 years and always started of the button no heaters required until about four weeks ago. Now I push the button it fires but does not start until I have turned it over about ten times and the start is very hesitant but it does start and then is no more trouble all day until the next day. I would say the fuel is running back from the pump so none is there on the first attempt but I am unable to find anything that might be coursing the problem, no leaks or drips, checked all the push on fuel pipes and bolted pipes not even any damp areas. I very regular do a 160 mile motorway trip and the engine never fades nor courses me any concern. Has anyone had this problem and found a cure or cures.

Have you tried all the usual diesel things? Fuel and air filters, tappets, collapsed hoses, injector condition?

Leak off pipes leaking. you can get a situation where air can leak in but fuel cant leak out so it doesn't look like a leak is there. A bit like Gortex, air can get through it but water can't.
