Landie or Shogun

Yes, I'd forgotten that, you certainly plunged in on that first lane. Clive's tyres are fierce as well, barely road legal if you ask me.

all the best urban dekay

I thought I'd give it a go, don't know if you don't try. I think Clive has Insa Sahara tyres. More grip than my worn XCL's anyway.

You have to admit it's utter bollocks that any jap "4x4"(feck I hate that term) is better off road than any Land Rover, even a very old one.

Surely not? As far as I can see, all vehicles (with the possible exception of Suzuki) have areas in which they excel. The Landie is a wondrous piece of kit, of that there is no doubt. What about the larger picture? comfort, seating, cargo space etc. What happens when you need both the 4wd capability and the convenience of these other properties?

Just passing thoughts along.... thats all

Thats when you buy a discovery instead of a defender.:D

Whaddon... mayhap I'll give it a try. So where are we heading next then? Anyone got any ideas? I rather liked the ford suggestion that clive and jenny came up with but I bow to your superior regional familiarity.

There are a few south of luton (slip end - markyate way) could try those. Have to be home by 4 this weekend... playing with my favourite blues band in Dunstable Sat Night. I have the locations but don't know whether they are all open.

Re: Moving this post.... it seems to have migrated... if you want to re-classify it feel free. I don't know how.

Cheers

Ryder, the Markyate one is safe to do on your own.

Start a thread in Greenlaning and we'll pick it up from there.

It always amuses me when people make sweeping statements about jap 4x4 getting stuck in mud more than Land rovers , it is dependant on so many factors as to what happens in any given situation.
I am a died in the wool landrover man , but have to look at the relative merits or otherwise of other makes.
The only thing that doesnt get stuck in mud is a hovercraft , anything with wheels or tracks can and does. JMHO:D
