Hi

I am thinking to put a set of Free style wheels with 265/75/16 tyres to a 1996 Defender do I need any modication to the suspension or needing 30mm wheel spacers. Thanks

The only thing you will need to do is to adjust the stop lock on the steering, because otherwise when one wheel turns inwards it will rub on the inside.

I had Freestyle alloys on my 90 briefly, offset made it look 'narrow' and the tyres rubbed like buggery on full lock. When adjusted to stop the rubbing it had the turning circle of a ship. I'd choose boost or deepdish if I went that route again.....now it's on Mods I'm tres content

You really need a bigger off set. The size is fine though. I have 285/75 r16s on modulars without a lift. They have a big off set but still rub on full lock without adjustment.
