Hi, I have a 2007 Freelander 2, and there is a light that keeps lighting up on my dash board, in the manual it just says contact the place of purchase, however, I have sent it down to them on two occasions and they dont know what it is.

The symbol is of a jeep going down a hill with an exclaimination mark after it. Can anyone help me, you may know what is wrong.

as much as i hate to admit this, i have been using a FL2 for many months now - and as per Yodas post i suspect it's the TC/HDC thingy flashing to show it's active (helping) - it blinks at me when i give it a little too much whelly on the ice

i haven't read the manual so i may also be wrong
 
Thanks for your replies, would love a 'real' jeep but unfortunately this will have to suffice till one can afford one.....

Am 'blonde' on this side, with not a clue as to what TC or HDC stands for. Hate to admit this but saying am driving a Freelander, I dont expect I am high in your estimations as it is.

Please Please let me know if you guys know more about this really dont know what it is, and am so pi***d off at the Land Rover Garage cause they dont know what it is either.

TC= Traction control HDC = hill descent control
 
First thing is to change your garage....any good landrover garage should know what it is.

It's the Hill Descent Control.....have you got it switched on?

The light on the dash will flash (green) if you switched it on as a warning that it is on.
The light stays a constant green light when in first or reverse gear showing it is active.
It is only active in these two gears for descending steep hills when off-roading.

If the light is constant (orange) it is indicating a fault in the system.

Definately change your garage.
