hello need help need someone to come out with a nanocom or diagnostic kit for a land rover discovery 1999 td5 someone local or nearby if possible please, thank you.

If your motor is still immobilised and you've not managed to get the EKA to work, then diagnostic isn't going to work.
You need to get the EKA to work first IIRC.

This is fixed , For the moment, I expect it to stop on him again.

Initial problem: He has an intermittent problem ,

The fob does not always work. Has happened a few times from what he has told me.

Sounds like the receiver at first glance.

But when he enters the EKA, the car beeps at a random point in the key turns. ( One beep , as if he has entered the wrong code, But not always at the same key turn count) Suspect, the door swtiches / mechanism is starting to fail.

Plus even when he does not enter the EKA, he can enter the car and manage to start the car , but it only runs for 30 secs.

He has a local LR dealer who he needs to get it to.

Spoke to him last night and after going through this with him, suggested it could be BCU / IDM starting to cause issues.

Then later got a text from him saying he went out to it to remove the reciever and try to dry it out , as he had done this earlier in the week and it worked. The fob worked and the car started, so if anyone was local now would be a good time if it is still working to double check the EKA code.

It really needs to have the car checked for moisture somewhere it should not be.

Cheers
