land rover discovery rare 3 door 200 tdi

Still trying to work out why this 'rare 3 door tdi' is getting so many bids when the only original part of it seems to be the engine. Am I missing something?

Maybe "Brand new body shell in 2010" .. I know a few people who would buy this just for that, though it's getting a bit expensive now ...

didn't think a low mileage engine is at 110,000 miles , lol

agree is starting to get expensive , but like everything it's what it is worth to someone

brake servo looks like it's been left to leak , after it gives the impression it's been looked after

The weird thing is that an original D1 with sonar blue interior etc only go for around £700 at auction (not the excessive buy-it-now prices). Even an ultra rare MPI went for only £850 a few weeks ago, and that had the same mileage.

they go for that low price then , is currently at 2,650 , maybe one of the guys can say why it's suppose to be a rare model ???

bet the chassis rot , covered in under seal to cover it up

It's a rare model because it is a 1990 200tdi D1 dressed up as a fancy bastardised 300tdi.

Am I allowed to write 'bastardised'?

Had the same D1 200tdi for 20 years... 2 new chassis, 3 new engines and 1 new body....... "Trigger's Broom"

that's if there anything to weld to , lol

That's why, up to a price point, it would have been an interesting vehicle if someone had a back garden ornament of a D1 'proper' 300 Tdi 3 door with a nackered body and body parts, a nackered wiring loom burned in at least three different places, but a very good condition chassis (as I had until a few weeks ago) ... perfect transplant vehicle ..

That disco was sold on eBay a year ago and only fetched £2000
