Afternoon all!
I think I need a land anchor, question is what type would best for me. My playground is on or around:
Devizes Roundway, Cherly whitehorse, Avebury and of course Sailsbury Plain. So the ground is mostly Glay & Chaulk (& Very Boggy & Muddy).:D
So Should I go for a "Plough" or"Pin and Plate type.
Please Help Me with this one as I cant afford to wast money on this.
Cheers
Vince

thats ok providing he can get in front of you to winch off;)
and if he is in front of you and your stuck......:p

True enough but you're up to some serious stuff if a straight pull backwards doesn't help.

Did consider one myself because I'm off-road alone a fair bit but its mostly in the woods and they come conveniently adorned with plenty of ground anchors :D.........apart from that one time dragging a trailer load of wood across a heavy clay field

15 mins with a bowsaw, billhook and a forked oak branch and I had me a free anchor that was up to the job

Not saying they aren't useful..........just expensive for the amount of times that they're likely to be the only option

ive got one of the pin and plate ones from a pinzgauer which is pretty good, just a pain in the arse to smash the 8 pegs in though

Yep I might get a Mig and go to Night School to learn me how to use it.
I was going to get some local engineering fabrication firm to make one up.
I have put a modist bid in, on that link you sent but I cant afford £160 for one.
I have been told the Army use the plate and pin type to move anything that they get stuck
