L405 Sat Nav upgrade to Apple Carplay

My 2014 Range Rover 405 has only done 47,000 miles. I’ve had it 6 years but since retiring in 2018 it hardly gets used. I love it though and on a long journey it’s fantastically comfortable. The sat Nav is a thing of utter ****e though & I’d consider changing to a newer model just to get CarPlay and use Google maps. Has anyone had their system upgraded to use CarPlay? I’ve seen a couple of companies advertising but don’t know of anyone who’s had this done or done it themselves?

Just use a tablet or phone, messing with the RR electronics is the road to pain.

After being let down by several companies I actually found a company that do this about 30 km from home. Came to the house & did it on my drive in a couple of hours. System retains all functions of original screen but with added benefit of now having CarPlay. Easy enough to revert to original. No extra buttons / switches installed and still retains touch screen features. Now has Google maps, Waze, iTunes, Spotify, WhatsApp etc, etc.
