L322 td6 engine removal/ fitting

Looking at buying a l322 td6 that needs a new engine , how hard a job is to change the engine?
Have done engine swaps on older range rovers but not a l322 and don't have a lift/ramp , so would be doing the job with on the ground with jacks and engine crane, just not sure if it's too much of a job too do outside ,

Looking at RAVE, there is a LOT of stuff to disconnect, but the process looks like it can be done using a tall engine crane etc...not for the faint-hearted that's for sure!

Trust you have RAVE that covers the L322?? It is in the ENGINE-TD6-REPAIRS section.

Have just had a look at RAVE and looks like it do able , I have a tall crane , but still not sure wether it worth it the hassle , range rover is a 2002 for £3000 and engine would be £1000?

What's actually up with the existing engine ?

I haven't bought the car, but I've been told oil pump has failed , so if I bought it would rather just replace than rebuild old engine
