My brother has a 2004 RR 3.0L dsl auto and is having a suspension problem.
The front can go very high and the rear low and then the opposite happens.A local garage offered to attempt to sort it (or at least find the problem) using a Launch scanner. No luck - and problem got worse if anything. The raise/lower control now has no effect.
He lives in the west of Ireland and the garages all round have no knowledge or experience of RRs.
He purchased a Foxwell NT 520 Pro as no one seemed to be able to scan for problems.
Of course it will take time to get to know how to use this - he has used it and come up with the following.
I offered to post these here in the hope that someone on the Forum could advise what to do next

hi first thing to check is that if the scanner can change values if not... its not going to help you.. i have had similliar problem when i broke the compressor fuse and the back end dropped.... i had to use the rave files to find out the normal values of each height setting and input them into the scanner/ obd tool and then it fixed the problem.. also when the car lifts or lowers does the compressor sound loud? if so i would think air leak.....ps i havent looked at the pics uploaded

I have the Foxwell NT510 which does allow you to calibrate the height sensors, have you tried clearing the errors and recalibrating?

EDIT: if it has the touch screen sat nav that can help with the process by showing the individual wheel heights

Thanks for replies.
We have been repairing/maintaining our own vehicles for many years but never got into diagnostics. We have a few friends in the trade who would help out with scanners etc when needed.
However there is very little help available when it comes to the Range Rover - they are very scarce in this area.
So while he now has a Foxwell scanner he knows he will need a lot of help to make use of the codes etc it brings up - and get help from people with the necessary expertise.

Just to update .
One of the rear airbags burst and has been replaced.
However the rear of the vehicle is now very high and will not come down.
Is anyone here familiar with the Foxwell 520 Pro - is it able to recalibrate the air suspension.
Have been reading anything we can find - but cannot find any mention of this.
Any help much appreciated.

The 510 does and according to the internet so does the 520. The instructions are pretty poor but when you go into the menu hopefully it will guide you through it.

Just changing the bag should not alter the height setting, maybe something else upset it.

There was a problem before the bag burst - as outlined in first post.
Following some work with a Launch the rears were permanently up very high. This possibly caused bag to burst.

Bit of a long shot but take the cover off suspension compressor in the boot and take the brass cone shaped thing off the pipe its on see what happens, they block up and stop suspension lowering.

The foxwell has an option to lower the suspension, might be worth getting all four corners around the same height then recalibrating. IMO if they are too far out the ECU throws a hissy, if they are similar it will let you calibrate.

Good idea just dont go for full deflate, just lower each side a bit a time and if they wont deflate see my post above.
