Hi all, I’ve been having a problem with the air suspension on my 3.0 2005 l322, it’s gradually getting worse, I’ve got the icarsoft scanner and it’s saying “too much energy for regulation needed left rear”… does anybody know what this means?? All help appreciated TIA

I have seen words similar to that effect in the DTCs I have but cant remember. does it have a code to go with it?

In an ideal world I guess I should change all 4, as I’ve only owned the car for 10 months I’m not sure if they are all the same age, and with everything else considered I’m not throwing money at the car, just repairing things as they go wrong…. I drove the car from Chichester to Kent with the near side airbag completely deflated, the only effect was that the car pulled slightly to the left, on motorway and country roads no difference….

Update.......this is getting strangerer and strangerer..... car had to go back to garage to have new pipe fitted to new air bag...no big deal, after fitting the car went into extended mode, the garage couldn't reset or calibrate or even lower the suspension, they said that the front valve block had been removed, so they couldn't deflate off side front, and every time they started the car it raised to extended mode... I had to drive it home like this ( not recommended )
Since searching, there is indeed no valve block in the front wheel arch, however, there is one next to the air tank.... I'm confused no, anyway, by cracking off the air pipes I managed to lower the car, however, on starting the compressor kicks in and it goes straight back into extended mode help please ....I do love this car, but I haven't got money to throw at it, any help would be appreciated, cheers fellas

So how has it been plumbed in?
take pics and post as I have no idea how right now.

ok so where does the end of the yellow line go (you only show 1 end) has somebody relocated the front crosslink valve?

In the first photo ( Wheel arch offside ) the yellow pipe goes straight to the off side airbag, and the joined black pipe goes straight to near side airbag…

Well until you get a crosslink valve ,I would say you will struggle.
How it has managed this far I have no idea.

Same here, but to be honest, until the garage changed the near side airbag it was working ok… they can’t explain it either!!!
At the moment I’ve got the car at a nice level by releasing air from the valve at the rear and the one attached to the air reservoir, I’ve removed the fuse controlling the compressor, and it’s driving fine, if i connect the compressor, then the suspension will just go back into extended mode… but only if I set the suspension for access mode, if I try to put it into off road mode, the light just flashes forever, and no matter where the suspension is sitting, the car always thinks it is at normal height….

Thanks for the reply and the PDF’s, very helpful, guess I’d better get on the bay and get a front valve block…
